The original brick carriage house and stable once stood on this location and survived until the late 1920s or early 1930s, when it was heavily damaged by fire. Mrs. Rachel Cameron Hale had the building demolished; however, bricks were salvaged from the ruins of the carriage house and stable and were used by Mrs. Hale to construct the two-story building that you see today as a garage and chauffeur’s apartment.
