| Main Sign at the head of the path to the slave quarters “A Clear Path” – A Project of the John M. and Sara R. Walton Foundation, Inc. The markers along this path highlight outbuildings and other features that would have been significant to the daily work of running a large plantation. The African-Americans who worked at Poplar Hill on His Lordship’s Kindness, prior to and after emancipation, would have walked along this path while performing many of their daily tasks and would have retired to their quarters down this wooded lane, at the end of the day. Interpretive signs created by students at Croom Vocational High School Flowers planted by students at C. Elizabeth Reig Regional School Landscaping and installation of flowers by students at Crossland High School This project was made possible by a grant from the Prince George’s County Historical and Cultural Trust. |
